By lightning. When Patton wandered nonchalantly over the line the other day, I said to him as if he'd understand "yo, what's up with that"? Turns out that the underground wire took a lightening strike and burned out. I don't know how long it hasn't been working, probably a few days.
It even burned the surge suppressor and the outlet. Fortunately the house did not catch on fire. I guess there actually are risks involved with running metal wires around your house and then connecting them to it. Who would of thought? Maybe for an encore I'll leave a trail of garbage from the raccoon den to the trash cans.
